What is PROFIS Engineering Suite?
PROFIS Engineering Suite is the new anchor design software from Hilti. It supersedes PROFIS Anchor and is available as a Standard version (Free of charge) and a Premium version (Paid yearly subscription).
- Standard: Everything provided in PROFIS Anchor has been incorporated into the Standard package with improved functionality
- Premium: New features allow analysis of the different elements of the steel to concrete connection including base material, steel plate, anchors, weld and stiffeners under CBFEM (Advanced Base Plate design). Integration with structural software such as STAAD.pro, Robot and SAP 2000 is also possible. Both versions are cloud based and follow the latest codes and standards such as Eurocode 2 Part 4 (EN 1992-4) and ACI 318 depending on country settings
What is Advanced Base Plate design / CBFEM in PROFIS Engineering Premium?
The new calculation CBFEM –Component Based Finite Element Method – uses advanced structural modelling to determine the loads acting on the anchors to assess the rigidity of the plate. The baseplate is modelled as shell elements with a bilinear stress strain behavior. As the plate stress exceeds yield, the FEM module also calculates a plastic strain in the base plate and the overall deformation.
The software also compares the FEM anchor forces with equivalent forces that would be obtained from a RIGID assumption. From the plastic strain, deformation and equivalent RIGID anchor forces, the user can conclude if the design is close to RIGID or not.
Will PROFIS Anchor still be available?
No, PROFIS Anchor is no longer supported . PROFIS Engineering has the same functionality in the standard version as is currently available in PROFIS Anchor with the upgrade to EC2.
Can I open my PROFIS Anchor files in PROFIS Engineering?
Yes. Just drag and drop your PROFIS Anchor file to the "Import existing file window" or click "Select File" to navigate to your saved file.
Can I import loads from Structural Analysis software packages?
Yes, you can import loads from software packages including Dlubal, SAP2000, Robot, ETABS and STAAD Pro.
Can two people working on the same project share designs if they both have PROFIS Engineering?
Yes, file sharing is supported through the Hilti Cloud. Share files using Company Project Sharing or share files using the email address of another registered user.
How can I set PROFIS Engineering to default to a specific Design Code?
In the settings menu, you can select all your design defaults which will apply to any new project file created.
What happens if all floating licenses are in use?
The user will get a pop-up window informing them that all licenses are in use and the standard version will be available to them at that time.
What happens if someone is using a floating license and doesn’t log out? Will the floating license be held until indefinitely?
The floating license session will expire after 1 hour of inactivity. The user can log out of their account to release the floating license he has in use before closing the browser window. If this is not done, the floating license will be held until the session expires.
